Text Box: Heather Holland

Heather describes herself as an amateur artist who only paints in her spare time.  She is a student in John Ford’s Monday watercolour class but also likes to paint in acrylics and dabble with collage and  print making.  She also enjoys tie dying and sells tie-dyed t-shirts.  Before starting watercolour classes Heather studied silver smithing with the late John Hale and pottery with painter and potter Anthony Milliwik. She was one of the first two female students in South Australia “permitted” to study photography in high school and she has loved photography ever since.  She would like to learn more about digital imaging and web design when time permits.   Heather collects gems and minerals and makes jewellery (when she can afford to purchase the silver and gemstones).  She is commencing a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts degree in 2012, which she hopes will give her art a whole new dimension.
