Jillian’s love of art has existed since her very earliest memories, even winning an Australia-wide colouring award at age seven.  Entering high school she convinced her parents to sign up for ‘boys’ classes, instead of the ‘girls’ classes, just so she could take art. After gaining an “A” for art in third year her father’s failing health led to her joining the work force – far from her dream of art.

Jillian  grew up in Grange has lived in England, Germany, and U.S.A. and has just returned after twelve years in the U.S.A.  Working in occupations far removed from art she still managed to apply herself to art from time to time.  For a time she was self-employed, sketching some 9,000 Adelaide homes for Real Estate Companies. In 1998 she started applying her talents to traditional art and painting and was delighted to win an award at her first attempt. She has continued to pursue art ever since, even having a gallery at West Beach for a while.

Mediums, subjects and sizes are no barrier to Jillian.  However, she does have a particular love of  small format art (SFA), particularly the world of miniature art which requires a very special skill-set. Jillian also enjoys photography, loves to teach/demonstrate art, mentor artists and would love to hear from anyone who is interested in connecting with her, particularly anyone interested in classes/workshops or information on SFA, miniature art and art journaling/sketchbooks.
